Gabbard Suggests Potential Existence of Aliens, Remains Tight-Lipped on Government Knowledge
Tulsi Gabbard, the Director of National Intelligence, expressed her belief in the possible existence of extraterrestrial life during an appearance on Miranda Devine’s podcast, “Pod Force One.” However, she refrained from disclosing any specific information regarding government knowledge on the subject.
When posed with the question of whether aliens could indeed exist, Gabbard, responsible for overseeing the coordination among 18 U.S. intelligence agencies, cautiously stated, “I have my own views and opinions.” She acknowledged her constraint, adding, “In this role, I have to be careful with what I share.” Yet when further questioned about her belief in UFOs, she affirmed, “Yes.”
Gabbard emphasized that while she cannot currently divulge information on this matter, she assured the public that her office is committed to transparency when appropriate. “We’re continuing to look for the truth and share that truth with the American people,” she stated.

In addition to the alien discussion, Gabbard mentioned her lingering questions regarding a series of drone sightings that caused a stir among residents in New Jersey last year. Officials from both the previous Trump administration and the Biden administration later clarified that these sightings involved a mix of legal personal, professional, and governmental aircraft.
“I still have a lot of questions about that,” Gabbard remarked. “I’ve heard the official explanation.” She noted that reports of drone activity weren’t isolated to New Jersey but extended to various regions across the nation.
Skeptics have pointed out that many reported sightings may have been misidentified objects, including satellites, planes, and even stars. Nonetheless, Gabbard asserted that the intelligence community possesses significant information regarding a Chinese spy balloon that traversed U.S. airspace for approximately a week earlier this year.
“There’s a lot of classified information about that,” she mentioned, opting not to elaborate further.
Former President Joe Biden eventually ordered the balloon to be downed over the coast of the Carolinas, a decision faced with criticism from both ends of the political spectrum, with some arguing it should have been initiated sooner. Following the incident, Biden described the situation as more embarrassing than intentional, stating he doubted Chinese leadership was fully aware of the balloon’s course or its purpose.
In the podcast, Gabbard was also questioned about assertions that Jeffrey Epstein may have had links to the intelligence community. This speculation arose from comments made by former Epstein prosecutor Alex Acosta, who suggested interference in Epstein’s prosecution.
Acosta claimed he was told by Trump’s team to let the matter go, stating, “I was told Epstein ‘belonged to intelligence.’” At a 2020 press conference, Acosta refrained from detailing further. Subsequently, a Justice Department report indicated that he denied Epstein was connected to intelligence agencies.
Gabbard reiterated that she has not encountered evidence supporting the notion that Epstein acted as an intelligence asset, a sentiment echoed by other officials during the Trump era. “I can tell you, I haven’t seen anything that’s come across my desk that reflects that,” she told Devine. “The president has made clear, if there’s anything credible, it should be shared with the American people, and I would do just that.”
