American Hiker Discovered Deceased in Spanish National Park After Weeks of Searching
An American hiker has tragically been found dead in a national park in Spain, weeks after going missing during a solo hike.
Authorities confirmed that Cole Henderson’s body was discovered on Friday in the Pyrenees mountain range, which lies along the Spain-France border.
Search teams located his remains approximately 650 feet down a challenging area on the northern slope of Monte Perdido.
The 27-year-old was last in contact on July 9, shortly after embarking on his hike alone. He was reported missing five days later when he did not return to his residence in Amsterdam, where he had been employed as an engineer.
