17-Year-Old Mother and Her Toddler Go Missing After Family Dispute
A 17-year-old mother from Queens has disappeared along with her 1-year-old daughter following a family disagreement, with authorities reporting that the pair was last seen at a well-known park over the weekend.
Maria Castro Escalante reportedly left home with her daughter, Catalina Escalante, after an altercation with her mother, according to police sources.
The two were observed around 9 p.m. on Monday in Flushing Meadows Corona Park, approximately three miles from their residence, according to officials.
On Tuesday evening, the NYPD released a photograph of Maria holding her child.
She is described as about 5 feet 1 inch tall and weighing around 180 pounds, and she was last seen dressed in a black dress and black footwear.
Catalina was reportedly wearing a pink shirt and a diaper at the time of their last sighting.
As of Wednesday, there has been no sign of either individual.
Authorities assert that there is no immediate suspicion of foul play related to their disappearance.
