Subway Attack: Armed Robber Slashes Victim in Bronx Incident
A robbery suspect, armed with a knife, remains at large following an attack on a subway passenger in the Bronx early Saturday, according to law enforcement officials.
The incident transpired shortly after 4 a.m. on a northbound D train as it approached the Kingsbridge Road station. Authorities reported that the assailant boarded the train earlier and approached his first target, a 37-year-old male, soliciting money.
When the victim declined to provide cash, the assailant brandished a knife, demanding the man’s cellphone, which he subsequently surrendered, police stated.
Next, the perpetrator targeted a second 37-year-old man, repeating the request for money. Upon refusal from the second victim, the suspect violently slashed him on the right side of his face, officials reported.
The attacker then seized the victim’s cellphone and backpack, fleeing the scene at the Fordham subway station. Authorities noted that the stolen devices included an iPhone 13 and a Samsung Galaxy Note 3, but it remains unclear which phone belonged to which victim. There is also no indication that the two victims were acquainted.
Despite the severity of the attack, both individuals declined medical assistance, according to the police. As of now, no arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing, authorities confirmed.
