Appalling Case: Father Charged with Sexual Abuse After 11-Year-Old Stepdaughter Gives Birth
A shocking incident has led to the arrest of a father in Oklahoma, accused of sexually assaulting his 11-year-old stepdaughter, who recently gave birth in their unsanitary home. His wife is also charged with facilitating the abuse.
Dustin Walker, 34, and Cherie Walker, 33, face potential life sentences after the girl, the oldest of their six children, delivered a baby on August 16 in Muskogee County, according to local authorities.
Though the couple claimed ignorance regarding the girl’s pregnancy, DNA analysis confirmed with 99.9% probability that Dustin Walker is the father.
“This case represents one of the most severe instances of child sexual abuse and neglect I have encountered in my career,” stated Muskogee County Assistant District Attorney Janet Hutson.
In addition to the sexual abuse charges, the Walkers are also facing felony child neglect accusations for allowing the young girl and her five siblings—aged 2, 4, 6, 7, and 9—to reside in "deplorable conditions," as outlined in court filings. Reports indicated that the children were found living in filth, surrounded by animal waste and lacking basic clothing. All six minors were removed from the residence last Tuesday.
The charges against Dustin and Cherie Walker initially focused on child neglect but escalated following the confirmation of DNA evidence linking Dustin to the child. He now faces sexual abuse charges, while Cherie is being accused of enabling the form of sexual exploitation. The couple’s neglect charges also stem from their failure to secure appropriate medical care for the 11-year-old during and after childbirth.
Speaking to the media, the 11-year-old’s grandmother, identified only as Michelle, stated that the family was unaware of the abuse taking place and proposed alternative theories regarding the child’s father, despite the DNA results.
“They’ve turned my daughter and son-in-law into monsters,” she asserted, emphasizing their love for the children.
She also noted that her granddaughter has reportedly mentioned that the biological father is a local 12-year-old boy, claiming, “She keeps telling everybody that it was him.”
Dustin and Cherie Walker are currently being held on a $100,000 bond and are due to appear in court on September 3. If found guilty, they each face the prospect of life imprisonment, according to officials.
