Rudy Giuliani Injured in New Hampshire Car Collision
Former Mayor of New York City, Rudy Giuliani, sustained significant injuries in a car accident that took place in New Hampshire on Saturday night, according to a representative.
The 81-year-old was treated for a fractured vertebra, along with various cuts and bruises, particularly affecting his left arm and lower leg. This followed an incident where his rental vehicle was struck from behind, as reported by spokesman Michael Ragusa on Sunday.
Before the collision, Giuliani had been flagged down by a woman who was experiencing domestic violence. He provided assistance and called 911, remaining present until law enforcement arrived to ensure her safety, noted Ragusa, who serves as Giuliani’s head of security.
"The accident occurred after he got back into his vehicle, which was then rear-ended at a high speed," Ragusa explained.
Despite the injuries, Ragusa mentioned that Giuliani is recovering well and maintaining a positive attitude. "The mayor is in great spirits. He’s a fighter. He survived 9/11," Ragusa added.
Expected to stay in the Manchester hospital for an additional two to three days, Giuliani will need to wear a brace for his vertebra injury.
Additionally, his business partner, Maria Ryan, a nurse, is assisting in managing his recovery. She stated, “He’s undergoing further tests and stabilizing his injuries.”
