"Charges Dropped for Self-Proclaimed ‘King of All Pimps’ Amid Online Feud"
The individual known as the "King of All Pimps," who claimed to have introduced Ashley Dupré, the escort linked to the scandal that derailed former Governor Eliot Spitzer’s political career, has been exonerated of criminal allegations stemming from a protracted dispute with another social media influencer.
Jason Itzler, a foul-mouthed streamer operating under the alias “MrBased,” faced accusations of harassment, criminal contempt, and making a terroristic threat in two ongoing cases in Brooklyn. These charges arose from alleged threats against YouTuber Alex Novell, as well as accusations that Itzler violated an order prohibiting him from contacting Novell.
This week, the Brooklyn District Attorney’s office announced the dismissal of all charges against Itzler, 58, who boasts an impressive following of 170,000 on TikTok and 151,000 on Instagram, according to his attorney, Mark Bederow.
“The criminal charges have been completely dismissed,” Bederow confirmed.
While the DA’s office refrained from commenting on the now-sealed cases, Itzler has changed his public persona significantly since he first gained notoriety in Spitzer’s scandal. He frequently appears in social media posts alongside Josh Block, an autistic TikTok influencer with 3.8 million followers known as “World of Tshirts.”
The conflict began in July 2024 when Novell accused Itzler of admitting his involvement in the 2010 murder of Wisconsin college student Julia Sumnicht. In a controversial YouTube video, Novell shared purported audio of Itzler allegedly acknowledging that he supplied the GHB Sumnicht ingested the night she died in Miami Beach.
Itzler has firmly denied any connection to Sumnicht’s death.
He entered a guilty plea to misdemeanor assault concerning an incident involving Novell in November, as court documents indicate. Subsequently, Novell filed a lawsuit against Itzler in March at Brooklyn Supreme Court for the assault and alleged harassment linked to the aforementioned video, prompting Itzler to counter-sue in April for defamation. Both legal actions have now been dropped.
“Those matters have been resolved,” Bederow stated regarding the lawsuits.
In the early 2000s, Itzler infamously boasted about managing New York Confidential, a notorious prostitution operation, and claimed he was instrumental in paving the way for the then-19-year-old Dupré in the city’s sex trade landscape.
Since her time in the spotlight, Dupré has also undergone a transformation. She previously operated a lingerie business in New Jersey and is now known as Ashley Earle, providing parenting tips and sharing moments with her young children to a TikTok following of 310,000.
In a notable contrast, her stepdaughter, podcaster Alix Earle, has amassed a staggering 7.4 million TikTok followers, significantly overshadowing her stepmother’s social media presence.
Novell did not respond to requests for comment.
