NYPD Officer Injured in Hit-and-Run Incident in Brooklyn
A police officer with the NYPD was injured in a hit-and-run collision in Brooklyn on Sunday night, as reported by law enforcement officials.
The unnamed officer was controlling traffic at the intersection of Church Avenue and Schenectady Avenue in East Flatbush around 8:30 p.m. when the incident occurred. A driver in a black sedan, identified by its distinctive orange license plate, struck the officer from behind.
Following the impact, the driver fled the scene and is currently being sought by the police.
The injured officer was taken to Kings County Hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
