Andrew Cabot Responds to Divorce Amid Viral Coldplay Concert Incident
Andrew Cabot, the estranged husband of Kristin Cabot, an HR executive at Astronomer, has publicly addressed their divorce following her viral kiss cam moment with former CEO Andy Byron during a Coldplay concert.
Cabot, who leads the New England distillery Privateer Rum, discussed the couple’s separation after Kristin filed for divorce last month, marking the end of their marriage.
A spokesperson for the 61-year-old entrepreneur confirmed that Andrew and Kristin had been "privately and amicably separated for several weeks prior to the concert."
“Their decision to part ways was already in motion before that event,” the statement elaborated. “Now that the divorce is public, Andrew wishes for closure to the speculation surrounding this matter and hopes to allow for the privacy that his family has always cherished.”
“No additional public comments will be made,” it concluded.
Kristin Cabot, 52, submitted her divorce petition less than a month after their kiss cam appearance at a Boston Coldplay concert.
Documents reviewed by media outlets indicate that she filed for the dissolution of their marriage at a court in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, on August 13.
During the incident, Andrew was on a business trip in Japan, unaware of his wife’s public display of affection with Byron until he returned home.
The couple had purchased a $2.2 million two-story, four-bedroom house in New England just five months before the incident.
This marks Andrew’s third divorce; he has two children from a previous marriage.
Kristin was previously wed to Kenneth Thornby, from whom she divorced in 2022, and they reportedly share a child.
The kiss cam moment occurred in July during "The Jumbotron Song," which transitions into Coldplay’s 2005 hit "Fix You."
Upon realizing they had appeared on the big screen, Andy quickly ducked out of view, while a startled Kristin turned away from the audience of 55,000 at Gillette Stadium.
Initially, Coldplay’s frontman Chris Martin seemed to relish the moment, remarking, “Look at these two.”
However, their awkward reaction soon led to confusion on stage, as he asked, “Oh, what? Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy.”
The pair have since stepped down from their roles at Astronomer following substantial public backlash.
Martin remarked in disbelief, “Holy s–t. I hope we didn’t do something bad,” especially after it became public that Byron was still married to Megan Kerrigan Byron, who promptly removed her married name from her Facebook profile following the incident.
