Estranged Husband Fatally Shoots Ex-Wife’s New Partner in Queens
An estranged husband fatally shot his ex-wife’s new partner on Thursday evening outside a residence in Queens, according to police reports.
The suspect targeted the 50-year-old man, firing multiple rounds at close range in the chest and abdomen around 10:30 p.m. near 119th Street and 28th Avenue in College Point.
Emergency personnel transported the severely injured victim to NewYork-Presbyterian Queens Hospital, where he later died from his wounds, authorities stated.
Sources indicate that the shooter, aged 55 and separated from his wife, fled the scene and had not been apprehended by Friday morning. Law enforcement officials have withheld his identity as he remains at large.
It remains unclear whether there was a prior altercation between the two men or if the shooting was a surprise attack.
Police have not confirmed if the woman involved witnessed the shooting.
The identity of the deceased has not yet been disclosed, pending notification to his family.
