Shooting Incident in Times Square Injures Three Individuals
Three individuals sustained injuries when a 17-year-old gunman discharged his weapon in a packed Times Square during the early hours of Saturday morning.
The shooting occurred around 1:20 a.m. near the intersection of 44th Street and 7th Avenue, following a confrontation between two individuals, according to police reports.
Among the injured are an 18-year-old woman and two men aged 19 and 65.
The woman was shot in the neck, while both men suffered gunshot wounds to their legs. All three victims were subsequently transported to Bellevue Hospital and have been reported to be in stable condition.
The alleged shooter, a 17-year-old male, was apprehended at the scene, where police located a firearm. The teen’s identity has not been disclosed due to his age, and no charges have been announced yet.
Witnesses described a scene of chaos as crowds fled from the area outside the Hard Rock Cafe when gunfire erupted, with video footage capturing the panic.
Police quickly responded to restore calm, and at least one individual was seen being placed on a stretcher and loaded into an ambulance.
