Gunfire Erupts in Manhattan Park: Man Shot in Face by Armed Duo on Moped
A man was shot in the face late Saturday night in Fort Washington Park, located in Manhattan, by two armed assailants on a moped. The victim reportedly returned fire at the fleeing suspects using his own weapon, law enforcement sources indicated.
Around 11:50 p.m., the unnamed man and a female companion were relaxing on a rock by the Hudson River when they were confronted by the duo on the moped.
Following a brief altercation, one of the assailants discharged a firearm, striking the victim in the face. In response, the victim drew his own gun and fired two shots toward the fleeing suspects, who sped away from the scene, evading capture, according to the police.
The victim is believed to be in stable condition and expected to survive.
Authorities are conducting an investigation into the incident.
