Florida Bartender Arrested for Alleged Stabbing Over Bar Tab Dispute
A bartender in Orlando, known for his "grumpy" demeanor, has been taken into custody following an incident in which he reportedly stabbed a customer nearly eleven times during a confrontation over a bar tab.
Last Sunday, officers arrived at Grumpy’s Underground Bar after receiving reports that 30-year-old Jason Wilfredo Rosario attacked a patron, inflicting injuries to his back and head. An arrest affidavit indicates that the altercation escalated after the victim questioned charges for drinks he claimed not to have received.
The situation initially prompted a bar manager to intervene, but Rosario reportedly continued to hurl insults at the customer, including derogatory remarks about the man’s deceased mother. After briefly walking away, Rosario returned, suggesting they step outside to settle their dispute.
Once they were outside, the verbal exchange intensified, culminating in Rosario making offensive statements regarding the victim’s mother. At this point, the victim struck Rosario, causing him to fall. The two engaged in a physical confrontation, during which Rosario allegedly drew a knife and began stabbing the victim in the back—a swift act that the victim did not immediately realize had occurred.
Post-incident, the victim reported that Rosario exclaimed, “I got him.” A nearby witness alerted the police after noticing blood on her hands from an encounter with the victim, who had brushed past her while reporting the stabbing.
The bar’s owner later informed officers that Rosario, known by the nickname “Joc Hip Hop,” had been involved in the incident and described him as "hotheaded."
The victim received medical attention, but although his exact condition remains unclear, authorities confirmed that he did not succumb to his injuries. During the investigation, the victim also identified Rosario in a police lineup.
An arrest warrant was subsequently issued, and Rosario was apprehended on Friday on charges of attempted second-degree murder. He is currently held at the Orange County Jail without the option for bail.
